Pop-up outdoor camps 2020
It’s cold but beautiful outside, let’s do science! Join the Science of Fun for hands-on science fun. Pop-up camps will be held on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays when the weather is conducive. We open these camps just a few days in advance; spaces are limited. Please check back here or follow our Facebook page @ScienceofFun!
Next date is Saturday, Dec 5 - Note that the camp hours are shifted on December 5 to avoid the cold morning. Full day camp (11:00 am - 5:00 pm, $99) or half day camp (to 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, $69). We will be outside as much as the weather allows and will socially distance in our indoor space when necessary; please be flexible. 1st - 5th graders, predominately outside.

More details:
In-person camps (small, highly modified, outside) will strategize highly-engaging hands-on activities that work well with social distancing and sanitation. Example activities are K’nex spinners, Mentos and Diet Coke fountains, penny boats, marbled paper, cloud dough, quick-grow crystals, egg drop challenge, lava lamps, and cloud dough.
Campers will wear a mask except when they are eating; masks must be worn at all other times. We have regular times for handwashing scheduled throughout the day and will reinforce distancing, especially during lunch/snack. This camp is only appropriate for campers who are willing to make the following COVID-19 modifications with support from our staff: wear their mask consistently, wash their hands regularly, spend most of the day outside, and maintain social distancing. Camp must meet minimum enrollment and may be canceled if it rains.
